Dr. Michael H. Fronstin – BiographyMichael Fronstin was born and raised in New York City, graduated from Brooklyn College and earned his medical degree at the prestigious Duke Medical School. He went on to finish three years of research at Duke after receiving a grant from the National Institutes of Health and later completed his residency in Pathology. Dr Fronstin is board-certified in Anatomic, Clinical, Radioisotopic and Hemato-Pathology. His practice concentrated in blood-disorders, a far more hands-on field than general Pathology, allowing him to interact directly with patients and not focus solely on his work in the laboratory.
Pathology, the science of diagnosing conditions in patients, is the most exact of all medical sciences. It is the pathologist who makes the final diagnosis of disease through tissue and laboratory testing. Most pathologists spend little time seeing patients as their primary domain is the laboratory. Dr. Fronstin is one of the rare exceptions to that rule. Upon completing his residency training, Dr. Fronstin served in the Army during the Viet Nam war, achieving the rank of Major during his tour of duty. While in Viet Nam, he was responsible for the operation of a pathology lab that served multiple mobile army hospitals and was in charge of the distribution of transfused blood for the entire country. When not working in the laboratory, he volunteered his time working with Australian and Vietnamese medical teams at local hospitals. It was during this time that Dr. Fronstin began to realize his great rapport with patients, a trait he carries to this day making it one of the driving forces behind the success of his current practice. After his tour in Viet Nam, Dr. Fronstin and his family settled in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he practiced medicine for 26 years. He was a founding partner in a private laboratory that eventually grew to service five area hospitals and served as the head of the Hospital Pathology Department. He also became active in local, state and national pathology organizations; for a time serving as the president of a national organization. Upon retiring at the age of 55, Dr. Fronstin took up tennis, skiing and indulged in his other great passion, sailboat racing; three times participating in races to Bermuda. However, less than five years later, he discovered that he missed practicing medicine and decided to return to the field in order to help his peers deal with the inevitable changes their bodies were experiencing as part of the aging process; first with non-surgical cosmetic treatments and later with hormone therapy. Dr. Fronstin built a reputation for bringing proven and affordable non-surgical cosmetic treatments to the aging men and women of South Florida. With the addition of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement, he can actually make his patient’s look and feel younger. Dr. Fronstin’s reputation is such that Microlab International, the Italian-based manufacturer of the Achthyderm System, has named him as their Medical Advisor for the entire U.S. market. The Achthyderm system has been very successful and in widespread use throughout Europe and Japan for close to ten years, but is relatively new to the United States. Dr. Fronstin’s background as a highly skilled pathologist insures that all his treatments are studied, reviewed and evaluated scientifically by an unbiased eye. The best thing Dr. Fronstin may have to offer his patients is the assurance that the treatments are safe and effective; administered by someone who does so solely for the love of his craft.
