The Hormone & Cosmetic Centers News and EventsFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Media Contact: Walter Busch
Dispelling the myths surrounding Bioidentical Hormone Replacement TherapyDr Michael Fronstin wishes to dispel the myths surrounding Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy; a practice he believes needs to be openly embraced by the medical community to improve the health and quality of life of aging people everywhere. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) was catapulted to the national spotlight when Suzanne Somers came out on the Oprah show and proclaimed that BHRT was her secret to staying energetic and youthful. There was a firestorm of claims and counterclaims made by doctors, drug companies and notable individuals on the effectiveness and safety of bioidentical hormones. But now that the dust has settled (a bit) where does the debate and the practice of BHRT stand? The use of BHRT has skyrocketed due to the hype, but certain parties are still lobbying against BHRT being a mainstream medical practice, thus blocking it from being covered by most medical insurance. This is despite the proof that the properly prescribed and monitored use of bioidentical hormones is not only safe and effective, but superior in many ways to traditional synthetic hormone treatments. What are bioidentical hormones? Bioidentical hormones are manufactured in the lab to have the same molecular structure as the hormones made by your own body. By contrast, synthetic hormones are intentionally different. Drug companies can't patent a bioidentical structure, so they developed synthetic hormones that are patentable (Premarin, Prempro, and Provera being the most widely used examples). Bioidentical hormones have fewer side effects from use. What makes BHRT so different? BHRT is, by design, administered to avoid the significant long-term side effects caused by the use of synthetic hormones, such as the increased risk of breast cancer from prolonged use of synthetic progestin. It has been shown that BHRT has a preventative effect on cardiac disease, GI cancer, Alzheimer's disease and other age-related ailments, a benefit not seen in the use of synthetic hormones. What is the downside to BHRT? The biggest downside to BHRT is that it is not covered by most health insurance and is not offered by many doctors. As long as patients find a reputable doctor to administer personalized treatment, there really is no medical downside to BHRT. Why would anyone want to block the use of bioidentical hormones? Since drug companies can't patent a bioidentical structure they would lose huge profits from loss of sales on their currently patented synthetics. This is the primary reason there is such a strong lobby against BHRT. Bioidentical hormones are not new, and there are several FDA approved brands currently on the market. Dr Fronstin believes it will only be a matter of time before BHRT becomes mainstream medical practice. Keeping the bodies hormones at their proper levels prevents many of the diseases associated with, and symptoms of aging. Sooner or later the medical community and insurance companies will come around to the long term health benefits of BHRT, a treatment that could improve the health and quality of life of every person as they age.
New FDA approved device may make many surgical and invasive cosmetic procedures obsoleteDr Michael Fronstin would like to present the Acthyderm System; a devise that can perform many cosmetic treatments with no surgery, no needles, no bruising, no pain, and no recovery time needed. The Acthyderm System offers a true breakthrough in non-surgical cosmetic treatment. It can deliver a large volume of medication down to the deepest layers of the skin. It is safe, painless and does no damage to the area treated. It even works well alongside most other cosmetic techniques. Because so much of the medication is absorbed beyond to the basal layers of the skin, the results are excellent and immediate. Patients notice the difference right after the treatment, as their skin feels smoother and firmer and appears more youthful. The Acthyderm System is an FDA approved Class 3 Medical Device used as a Transdermal Delivery System for the noninvasive delivery of medication deep into the skin employing a process called Mesoporation. This technique reorganizes the cellular membrane via painless electrical impulses creating temporary water channels called Mesopores, allowing the chosen medications to penetrate the skin. This advanced drug delivery system allows for the treatment of a variety of conditions, eliminates the complications that result from standard injection treatments and greatly reduces any drug side-effects. The Acthyderm System provides non-surgical, non-invasive cosmetic treatments that look completely natural and require no discomfort or recovery. For many cosmetic procedures it is a much better choice than surgery, helping the body to fix itself naturally so as to regain and retain a more youthful appearance. The most common use of the Acthyderm System is for cosmetic and aesthetic treatments, such as:
Other medications are available that treat rosacea, spider veins, age spots, remove facial and neck fat, and can lighten or remove scarring. In most cases, the Acthyderm can be used in conjunction with other non-surgical treatments to achieve the patient's desired result. Dr Fronstin would be happy to demonstrate the Acthyderm and has an impressive collection of before and after photos to illustrate the amazing results achieved with Acthyderm treatments.
The HCG Weight Loss PlanIs it safe? Is it effective? Here are the facts The HCG Weight Loss Plan or the HCG Diet is a hormone-based weight loss program that is sweeping the nation. Although many authorities, including the FDA, do not recognize HCG (Human Chorio Gonadotropin) as a weight loss treatment; tens-of-thousands of people have used this weight loss plan with great success. This plan allows patients to lose up to 1-pound a day for 6-weeks, and can be repeated after a short break to lose any amount of weight. Patients report that the weight is much easier to keep off than with other diets and reports show that almost all patients are able to complete the plan and most are able to keep the weight off for a year or more. First described in the late 1950's by research physician Dr Simeons; it is believed by many that HCG (Human Chorio Gonadotropin) helps the body to release stored fat to nourish it in times of low calorie intake. HCG is produced by pregnant women, and it was theorized by Dr Simeons that its function was to insure the fetus receives proper nutrients even if the mother was unable to achieve sufficient calorie intake. Although no definitive studies have been done to once and for all prove or disprove its usefulness as a diet aid, thousands have used the HCG Weight Loss Plan with excellent results. Here is how the plan works as administered by Dr Michael Fronstin. The patient is screened by the doctor to insure they are a candidate for the treatment and have no underlying health issues. They are then given a booklet on what they can and cannot eat. After a few days of feasting (yes feasting) the patient starts taking HCG and begins an ultra-low calorie diet. This will go on for 6-weeks, and then the patient must take a short break from the plan before going any further to insure that they do not build up a resistance to the treatment. In this way, the patient can go through several cycles of treatment to achieve their desired weight loss. Patients typically report that it takes much longer to gain weight back than with standard diets and many report that they have kept most of the weight off after a year or more. There are controversial aspects of the plan. The plan does require an ultra-low calorie diet to trigger the fat loss, but use of HCG seems to lower cravings for food and allows the body to burn fat for energy more efficiently. Most patients report no loss of energy. Due to the low calorie diet and the nature of HCG, a break (typically 6-weeks) must be done between treatments to insure HCG remains effective. Critics contend that the ultra-low calorie diet is solely responsible for the weight loss, but none of the critics can explain the extremely high completion and success rates of the diet. Obviously there must be some benefits to HCG or this diet would be just as popular without the hormone treatment. The HCG Weight Loss Plan is sure to be generating a lot more attention in the media, as clinics are popping up all across the country and HCG is being peddled online with no doctors prescription or supervision. Dr Fronstin hopes that the public will educate themselves on the benefits and dangers of all diets and medical treatments before they undertake them, and to only undertake treatments requiring drugs of any kind while under the supervision of a reputable physician.
